Summer Refresh in the Backyard & HomeGoods Giveaway

Hi everyone! I know it hasn’t been long since I showed you my early summer backyard look, but I’m here again to show you how I gave it a whole new look for under $200 at HomeGoods! You can take a look at it’s previous look here. I’ve also teamed up with my fellow HomeGoods Bloggers to show you several ideas for how to decorate an outdoor space for summer. At the end of this post, you’ll find links to their blog posts, as well as a special GIVEAWAY!!

New Look

I was craving a softer and lighter look, so I headed to HomeGoods to #GoFinding! This is the best part for me! I love that HomeGoods always has the latest trends with the best prices! It’s like a little adventure looking through the aisles in search of the perfect pieces to take home. To avoid becoming overwhelmed by all of the choices at HomeGoods, I go in with a plan to find some general pieces. For my backyard, I knew I wanted to update the pillows, get some LED candles, and a couple of new accessories to add to the look I already had going. Take a look at what I’ve purchased, and then I’ll walk you through the new additions.

I spent about $160 for this new look. I started with the pillows because they are such an easy way to change the look of a seating area. These gray and white soft patterned outdoor pillows are neutral, yet they have a lot of style. I love mixing patterns to make things look unpredictable. I love to find a two pack of pillows because the price is right!

The pillows look great against the creamy white background of the outdoor sofa.

I brought a basket out from the living room, and used it to hold an extra pillow and throw.

To lighten up the look of the coffee table without painting it, I just added a light wood tray to the top and decorated it with a few pale accessories, all from HomeGoods. The tray also matches the color of my candle lanterns, which helps create a cohesive look. Coffee table and lanterns from HomeGoods as well, purchased previously. You can read more about other pieces in the backyard here. Everything that I am highlighting in this blog post is from HomeGoods.

Here is that strand of LED lights that I found. I casually strung them over my candle lanterns for a little extra glow.

I love the light and airy feel of this white candle hurricane. This was a fun item that caught my eye, and thought it would group nicely with my two lanterns.

I used LED candles to fill my candle holders. The candles came in a package of 5 with a little ON/OFF remote, which I love! It makes it so easy to use them! (I love how the LED candles have a realistic twinkly glow at night too). I had real candles in these lanterns before, but I learned that that was a mistake because they melted in the sun! These new LED candles are perfect because they will not melt!

Night Glow

Here’s a look at the patio at sunset. Check out the great glow on those LED candles!

Take a look at the new white flower pot on the left! I chose this because I wanted another white accessory around the base of the sofa. I love the selection of outdoor pots at HomeGoods!
