Pastel colored DIY letterboard made of wooden spatulas • Tutorial by
A few weeks ago I almost bought myself a letterboard. In the end, it failed because the shop no longer had any suitable letters. All the better, because that’s how this pastel DIY letterboard came in two versions.
Maybe you can’t even see these letterboards anymore, but I’m more of a late adopter when it comes to interior stuff. So I say, you can let it go for once!
For your DIY letterboard you will need:
First you mix the colors that you want your letterboard to have. I did the whole thing in two versions: One in one color in piggy pink and one as a pastel rainbow. Brush on as many wooden spatulas as you want your letterboard to be. For me it was a total of ten spatulas.
Once they are all painted and dried, you can now glue them to another spatula with the superglue. But make sure that you leave a little space between the individual rows for the letters later. A good spacer here is another spatula (you can see this in more detail in the picture gallery in the second picture!). Before gluing, make sure to check whether the distance fits the letters you bought. Better to leave too little than too much space. Finally: You can simply score and break off protruding wooden ends on the sides with a cutter.
Mero so completely unimpressed.
Then all you have to do is cut off all the letters from the holder and think about what should be funny on your DIY letterboard. I would like to have “Oink, oink, oink!” Written on my colorful board, but unfortunately there were only two letters “K” in my letterset. Hmph. So only “oink, oink!” For me. But then the little heart was added to it.
Ireally wanted to have #SCHWEINELIEBE on my second board. Unfortunately, I didn’t consider that I couldn’t just put the letters in landscape format. Oops. But hey, even with three rows, I find it very chic and you can still say that it was planned exactly as it was and not different.
