TEMPLATE:

See diagrams A.1 to A.5 (select the diagram for the required size).

DECREASE TIP-1:

To calculate how often to decrease in one row, divide the total number of sts on the rows, e.g. 252 M, by the number of decreases to be made, e.g. 40 = 6.3. I.e. in this example work approx every 5th and 6th st tog.

DECREASE TIP-2:

Dec as follows after markers A and C: Slip 1 st as if to K, K 1, pss the slipped st (= 1 st dec).

Dec as follows before marker B and D: Start 2 sts before marker and K 2 tog (= 1 st dec).

INCREASE TIP:

Inc 1 st by making 1 YO. On next round K YO twisted to avoid holes.

KNITTING TIP:

If the neckline of the sweater is to be tighter, the rib pattern can be continued from A.5 to the desired measurement, but to avoid it getting too wide, you should decrease a little evenly in the left ribs.

PULLOVER:

Worked in the round on circular needle from bottom to top.

HULL:

Cast on 252-276-300-330-366-396 sts on circular needle size 3 mm with BabyAlpaca Silk. Switch to circular needle size 2.5 mm and K 1 round. Then work rib in the round (= K 1 / P 2). When you have worked rib for 3-3-3-4-4-4 cm, switch to circular needle size 3 mm and work A.1 in the round – AT THE SAME TIME on first round 40-44-52-58-62-64 Decrease sts evenly – read DECREASE TIP-1 = 212-232-248-272-304-332 sts. NOTE KNITTING GAUGE! After A.1 continue in stockinette st. When the piece measures 8-8-8-9-9-9 cm insert 4 markers as follows: The 1st marker after the first 31-35-38-44-50-56 sts (= marker A), the 2nd marker. Markers after the next 44-46-48-48-52-54 sts (= marker B), the 3rd marker after the next 62-70-76-88-100-112 sts (= marker C) and the 4th. Markers after the next 44-46-48-48-52-54 sts (= marker D), after the last marker there are 31-35-38-44-50-56 sts on the round.

Dec on next round after marker A and C and before marker B and D – read DECREASE TIP-2 (= 4 sts dec). Dec like this every 8th round a total of 5-5-5-4-4-4 times = 192-212-228-256-288-316 sts. When piece measures 22-22-23-23-23- Inc 23 cm after marker A and C and before marker B and D – read INCREASE TIP (= 4 sts inc). In this way every 6th-6th-6th-8th-8th-8th Inc total round 5-5-5-4-4-4 times = 212-232-248-272-304-332 sts. When piece measures 32-34-35-35-35-35 cm work next round as follows Work: Cast off 5-5-6-6-7-8 sts for armhole, knit in stocking st over the next 96-106-112-124-138-150 sts as before (= back piece), 10-10-12- Cast off 12-14-16 sts for armhole, work in stocking st over the next 96-106-112-124-138-150 sts as before (= front piece) and the remaining 5-5-6-6-7-8 sts Cast off for the armhole. Put the piece aside and work the sleeves.

SLEEVE:

The piece is worked in the round on double pointed needles, change to short circular needle as you increase.

Cast on 46-48-50-52-56-58 sts on double pointed needles size 3 mm with BabyAlpaca Silk. Change to double pointed needles size 2.5 mm and work A.1 in the round. When A.1 has been worked, switch to double pointed needles size 3 mm again. K 1 round. Work next round as follows: K 1, P 2, stocking st until 3 sts remain on needle, P 2 and K 1. Continue like this. When the piece measures 6 cm, inc 1 st on each side of the middle 8 sts mid under sleeve – read INCREASE TIP (= 2 sts inc). Increase like this a total of 15-19-23-24-25-26 times, at the following rhythm:

Size S: Every 8th round

Size M: every 6th round

Size L: Every 5th round

Size XL: Alternate every 4th and 5th round

Size XXL: every 4th round

Size XXXL: Alternately every 3rd and 4th round

= 76-86-96-100-106-110 sts. With a total length of 43-43-42-41-39-37 cm (PLEASE NOTE: the shorter lengths in the larger sizes are compensated for by a longer yoke) Cast off 10-10-12-12-14-16 sts under sleeve = 66-76-84-88-92-94 sts on needle. Work the 2nd sleeve the same way.

FIT:

Place the sleeve sts on the same circular needle size 3 mm as the sts on the body (without knitting the sts) = 324-364-392-424-460- in the two places where you cast off for the armholes on the body. K 488 sts 2 rounds while AT THE SAME TIME dec 2-14-14-4-12-12 sts evenly on first round – read DECREASE TIP-1 = 322-350-378-420-448-476 sts, then on round Work pattern A.2 (choose diagram for your size = 23-25-27-30-32-34 repeats of 14 sts). When A.2 has been worked there are 276-300-324-360-384-408 sts on needle. K 2 rounds AT THE SAME TIME dec 24-20-16-24-20-16 sts evenly on first round = 252-280-308-336-364-392 sts on needle. Then work A.3 in the round (= 9-10-11-12-13-14 repeats of 28 sts). When A.3 has been worked (refer to diagram for desired size) there are 216-240-264-288-312-336 sts on needle. Now work A.4 in the round (= 9-10-11-12-13-14 repeats of 24 sts). When A.4 has been worked there are 180-200-220-240-260-280 sts on needle. K 2 rounds AT THE SAME TIME dec 0-8-4-12-8-16 sts evenly on first round = 180-192-216-228-252-264 sts on needle. Then work in the round according to A.5 (choose diagram for your size = 15-16-18-19-21-22 repeats of 12 sts). On the round marked with an arrow change to circular needle size 2.5 mm, then continue the pattern. When A.5 has been worked there are 90-96-108-114-126-132 sts on needle – read KNITTING TIP and cast off. The sweater measures approx. 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm from the shoulder.
